Lahore: PTI candidate Mian Shahzad Farooq arrested by police

On February 11, 2024, PTI candidate Mian Shahzad Farooq was arrested by Punjab police in Lahore. It should be noted that Shahzad Farooq is the brother of PTI candidate Mian Ibad Farooq, who is currently in the military’s custody and being tried in military courts in complete violation of his constitutional rights.

Since April 2022, after toppling Imran Khan’s government through a military-backed vote of no-confidence, the Pakistani regime has blatantly violated human rights in an effort to suppress Imran Khan’s movement. These human rights violations include and are not limited to threats, harassment, illegal and arbitrary detentions, abductions, and violence.
