میں نعرۂ مستانہ، میں شوخئ رندانہ
میں تشنہ کہاں جاؤں، پی کر بھی کہاں جانا
میں سوز محبت ہوں، میں ایک قیامت ہوں
میں اشک ندامت ہوں، میں گوہر یکدانہ
میں طائر لاہوتی، میں جوہر ملکوتی
ناسوتی نے کب مجھ کو، اس حال میں پہچانا
میں شمع فروزاں ہوں، میں آتش لرزاں ہوں
میں سوزش ہجراں ہوں، میں منزل پروانہ
کس یاد کا صحرا ہوں، کس چشم کا دریا ہوں
خود طور کا جلوہ ہوں، ہے شکل کلیمانہ
میں حسن مجسم ہوں، میں گیسوئے برہم ہوں
میں پھول ہوں شبنم ہوں، میں جلوۂ جانانہ
میں واصفؔ بسمل ہوں، میں رونق محفل ہوں
اک ٹوٹا ہوا دل ہوں، میں شہر میں ویرانہ
میں نعرۂ مستانہ میں شوخئ رندانہ
میں تشنہ کہاں جاؤں پی کر بھی کہاں جانا

I am the tear of remorse, I am the rarest gem.
I am ruby of the heavens, the treasure of empires
When will the mortals see me for what I am?
I am a glowing candle, I am a trembling fire.
I am the burning pain of separation, and the home of the beloved
Whose desert of memories am I? Whose ocean of tears am I?
I am the radiance of Mount Sinai, my form is like that of Moses.
