Ahmedpuri Gate is located in the western part of Bahawalpur, near the railway station. The gate was built in the 19th century by Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan V, who was the ruler of Bahawalpur at the time. The gate is made of red brick and features a number of arches and domes. It is named after Ahmedpur Sharqia, a nearby town that was also founded by Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan V.
Bohar Gate was named after a huge Banyan tree (locally known as ‘Bohar’), which stood near the gate and was a prominent landmark in the area.
Darawari Gate is located in the southern part of Bahawalpur and points towards one of the most iconic landmarks in the region: Derawar Fort. Its name pays homage to this historic fort.
