The West presents itself as the guardian of human rights, liberty, justice and moral values, and yet has repeatedly applied these principles selectively, extending them where convenient and abandoning them where power, interest, or political expediency demands otherwise. Those well versed in history have never been under the illusion of Western nations’ moral superiority, and now Israel’s murderous campaign of the Palestinians has completely laid bare the hollowness of Western moral posturing.
And thus, we reject the values and the institutions that have oppressed, crippled and neglected us. We no longer are under any illusion that Western values are morally superior; we see them as corrupt, violent and dangerous. We return, as we always should, to Absolute Truth. We practice true brotherhood, value all life, and become the Ummah that illuminates by following our exemplar, Muhammad ﷺ.
Moral Values
We reject the so-called moral values professed by the West, that are not anchored in Absolute Truth. We reject the values that claim to uphold the rights and dignity of all people, but have only enabled systematic oppression and violence against us. We reject the values that are used to assert moral superiority while remaining hollow in practice. We reject this inhumane and destructive framework that is being superimposed on us, while being blatantly violated by the very ‘civilized’ people, who have held us as backward and in need of adopting these so-called values.
- Free speech is curtailed when it opposes Western narratives on Israel and Palestine
- Human rights have been repeatedly trampled, whether through the killing of millions in Iraq, the forced disappearances of Afghans and Pakistanis, or the rape, torture, and killing of thousands of Palestinians
- International law has repeatedly been violated, through the bombing in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and Palestine, and through drone strikes that killed thousands of civilians in Afghanistan and Pakistan
Capitalism
We reject the economic system that has reduced humans, created in the light of God, to only their social and economic function; a system in which the worth of a person or people is determined only by their capacity to produce.
We reject this system that is fundamentally unjust and perpetuates further inequality, a system that has eroded personal liberty and the sense of individuality, and has reduced human life to monotonous, repetitive and mechanical processes. We reject this system in which life is measured by output and efficiency, and human relationships transformed into transactions, communities into markets, and people into units of labour.
We reject the ways in which your economic system has been intertwined with systems of global domination and exploitation. We view it as inseparable from historical patterns of colonial extraction, in which our lands, labour, and resources were plundered to enrich your nations, while we continue to bear the costs of extraction, exploitation and instability to this day.
We refuse to participate in your system by boycotting all businesses that profit from the oppression and exploitation of our people.
Political System and Order
We reject your systems of government, the Western democracy, whether direct, representative or parliamentary, supported by a minority or a majority, which has not only failed to prevent mass slaughter, genocide and ethnic cleansing, but has actively enabled it through military and financial assistance.
We reject your notion that Western democracy provides an ethical framework for governance. Your democracy makes every citizen or member directly responsible for the crimes committed by your democratic societies.
We reject your so called liberalism and conservatism, your left and your right, your political ideologies and systems that enabled colonialism and imperialism, and the exploitation of land and resources.
We also reject your so called liberal human rights movements, that proclaim to defend the rights universally, but have kept an abject silence when the oppressed were ‘others’. We reject the current world order and shall do all that we can to dismantle it.
Labels and Narratives
We reject the narratives and notions that you peddle, that are designed only to delegitimise the political actions of those who oppose you.
We reject your notions that have held us as ‘uncivilised’, ‘backward’ and in need of ‘civilizing’. We believe that we are the viceroy of God on Earth, and hence, are upholders of His Justice and Mercy on this land.
We reject your definitions of progress. rooted solely in material gain, economic growth, or technological advancement, and detached from moral or spiritual purpose. We believe in life after death, and for us, true progress is measured not by what we accumulate, but by what elevates the soul and strengthens our relationship with the Divine.
We reject your labelling of us as ‘terrorists’, that you use as a tool to vilify your political opponents, justify violence, ethnically cleanse populations, and take control of their land and resources.
We reject your racist, xenophobic and inhumane tropes and claims that depict us as uncivilised and establish your moral superiority.
Institutions and Law
We reject your institutions of ‘peace’ and ‘international justice’ that have been deployed as a tool to uphold Western hegemony. We reject the selective application of laws with which you control and oppress others, while imposing your corrupt values upon them.
You hide behind the veils of justice and legality, and yet violate these principles when convenient, while invoking them to deny our right to life and self-determination.
We hold only to the Highest of Truths, our values are anchored in His Divine law, which is unchanged and unchangeable.
