Pakistani journalist Asad Ali Toor, who has been very vocal in his critique of Pakistan’s CJP Qazi Faiz Isa for his role in undermining Pakistan’s democracy and enabling brazen election fraud, has been arrested on the charges of orchestrating a malicious campaign against the state and its officials.

Since April 2022, after toppling Imran Khan’s government through a military-backed vote of no-confidence, the Pakistani regime has tried to suppress all dissenting voices and curbed civil liberties. Journalists and social media activists have been threatened, harassed, arrested on propped-up charges, or downright abducted and tortured.
