Himmat-e-Iltija Nahi Baqi is an Urdu Ghazal written by a famous Pakistani poet, Faiz Ahmad Faiz.
ہمت التجا نہیں باقی
ضبط کا حوصلہ نہیں باقی
[Himmat iltija nahi baaqi]
[Zabt ka hosla nahi baaqi]
There is no courage left to plead
No strength left to restrain
اک تری دید چھن گئی مجھ سے
ورنہ دنیا میں کیا نہیں باقی
[Aik teri deed chhin gayi mujh se]
[Warna duniya mein kya nahi baaqi]
Your sight has been taken away from me
Otherwise, what does the world still not hold?
میں نے دکھلایا فرنگی کو ملوکیت کا خواب
میں نے توڑا مسجد و دیر و کلیسا کا فسوں
[Maine dikhlaya Farangi ko malookiyat ka khuwab]
[Maine tora masjid-o-deer-o-kaleesa ka fasoon]
I showed the Europeans the dream of kingship (dictatorship)
I shattered the spell of mosque, temple, and church
اپنی مشقِ ستم سے ہاتھ نہ کھینچ
میں نہیں یا وفا نہیں باقی
[Apni mashq-e-sitam se haath na kheench]
[Main nahi ya wafa nahi baaqi]
Persist in your trials of torment on me
Either I shall not survive, or fidelity not survive
تیری چشم الم نواز کی خیر
دل میں کوئی گلا نہیں باقی
[Teri chashm-e-alam nawaz ki khair]
[Dil mein koi gila nahi baaqi]
For the sake of your tender, sorrowful eyes
my heart harbours no complaint
ہو چکا ختم عہد ہجر و وصال
زندگی میں مزا نہیں باقی
[Ho chuka khatam ahd-e-hijr o wisal]
[Zindagi mein maza nahi baaqi]
The days of uniting and parting have gone by
For life holds no more joy
