Human Rights Violations
Illegally incarcerated PTI chairman Imran Khan arrested in more cases
Former prime minister Imran Khan was arrested by Rawalpindi police in at least a dozen cases pertaining to the May 9 violence, including the attack on the General Headquarters (GHQ), as an accountability court in Islamabad indicted him and former first lady Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana reference on Tuesday.
Since April 2022, after toppling Imran Khan’s government through a military-backed vote of no-confidence, the Pakistani regime has blatantly violated human rights in an effort to suppress Imran Khan’s movement. These human rights violations include and are not limited to threats, harassment, illegal and arbitrary detentions, abductions, and violence.
